Warriors Game

Some of the class wanted a reminder out so that they could watch Ben play this weekend on T.V.
They are playing the Gold Coast Titans on Saturday at 7.30pm.

He will be in number 13.

Next week we are going to look a reusing our rubbish. We are going to decorate our own Tin Cans. If everyone could bring one in next week please.

Reading Logs

The Warriors are going to send prizes to those people who get their reading logs signed each night. When you have 20 stickers you can get a prize! Well done Mia and the Ants who read with Miss Macartney today and have a sticker already! 

Statistics

Our Stars, Rectangles and Diamonds are working hard and learnt about Tally Charts today. To help us we have been practising counting in 5's and 10's. When we can do it we can go on the Wall of Fame! All we have to do is find Miss Macartney and show her we can do it!!!

Zirka Circus

Zirka Circus came to visit is today and did a quick show promoting their up coming show. 

Vodafone Warriors Visit

Today we were very lucky to have Ben Henry come and visit our class and talk about how great Reading is!

He read us a story and asked us questions. If we answered correctly we won a goody bag filled with books and a book mark!! 

He also gave us books for our class and library! 







Travel Wise

Arahoe is a Travelwise School!! 

This week is Travelwise week and we went on a treasure hunt to learn all about how we can be safe around our school. 

We had a great time using the iPads and QR reader to find the codes! 

Waste Refuse Trip

We had a great day going to the waste centre yesterday! 

We learnt a lot about what happens after we put our rubbish in the bin! We also learnt more about Tiger Worms and loved it when Logan-John dressed as a worm!

Today at the library we voted for our favourite book in the NZ Post Book Awards. 

We could win up to $1000 for our school!

Art Workshop

Today we had a sketching workshop with Mr Dodd. He taught us how to draw a still life in different stages and how to start shading a picture.

Felts writing group

Miss Macartney and the Felts had an amazing writing lesson today. We wrote some words and our name correctly in our books! 

Well done Connor, Tiya, Noah, Kayla and Sienna-Grace! You are all great writers.

What do Tiger Worms like?

For statistics we are looking at what food the Tiger Worms would like to eat and what they definitely do not want to eat.
Then looking at what we have in our lunchbox and at home.

Can you find any of these things around your home?
(Just have a look for now we don't need anything brought in).

Food for Worms
What they like:
-Newspaper and non glossy paper.
-Apples.
-Rabbit, cow, horse and sheep poo.
-Dry or old grass.
-Banana Peel
-Left over fruit and vegetable scraps.
-Toilet roll centres and paper towels.

-Egg Cartons and egg cartons.

What they don’t like:
-Biscuits.
-Pet Poo.
-Lollies or chocolate.
-Wood or sawdust.
-Chips or crackers.
-Meat or dairy products.
-Fresh grass
-Popcorn
-Bread and flour products.
-Glossy Paper.

Subway is coming to Arahoe!!!



The PSG is pleased to announce that every 2 weeks starting from 16th May your child will be able to order Subway for lunch. The dates will be 16 May, 30 May, 13 June and 27 June.

The order envelope will come home on the Friday before and orders are due back by the next Wednesday – NO LATER THAN 3.15pm!
