Monster Manners

We read a story today about a monster that came to school!
It was a very naughty monster that did all sorts of things in the classroom like pushing, running, breaking toys and being rude. But the monster just didnt know the rules!
We looked at what manners we liked and didnt like and put them into categories: above the line, below the line and bottom line.

Squares Maths Group

Today the Squares looked at before and after numbers to 10. We learnt that after meant going up the number line and before meant going down. It was tricky when we covered the numbers up!

To access - follow this link. The password has been sent to your email to ensure full privacy of children's details and only our classroom will have access. Double click once you get to the wall to add your information.

My Many Coloured Days

Today we started our Dance topic- We looked at emotions that go with colours. The next thing we will do is think about how we would move to portray these feelings.
Some of our ideas were:

RED: hot, angry, frustrated.

BLUE: sad, upset, cold.

BLACK: Mad, upset, grumpy.

YELLOW: Everyone said Happy!!

We are excited to keep learning about how to move our bodies.

We are super scissor users!

This afternoon Miss Reed came into our class to teach us how to use scissors. We learnt what sounds the scissors make and how we cut curved lines and straight lines differently. We also learnt how to cut a circle in the middle of the paper. There was a big mess at the end but we tidied up very fast!
THANKS MISS REED!!!

Tadpoles to Frogs

Keara brought in her tadpoles to show us today. They are changing into frogs!
Thanks Keara!

Swimming with Alannah

Today we were very lucky to go swimming with Alannah. She helped us float and play some fun games!

Shuayb loved being in charge of Simon Says and blowing the 'trumpet'. He was very brave and leaned all the way over the pool today! Great job Shuayb!

Swimming

Just for this week swimming is Tomorrow!

We can all get along!

Today we read a cool book called The Tree Hut Treaty by Wiremu Grace. It was all about sharing and playing nicely with each other.
Room 18 have our own treaty that we use while at school. It is great we can all play together nicely and look after our class!
